AppleLand

Today was a perfect day to go to AppleLand. It was cool, no bees and the apples had a nice little rain sprinkle to make them taste extra juicy! The kids learned that they are grown from root stock(not seeds as that takes longer) and the role that bees play in this. We also learned it very important when picking to remember: Eye to the sky! They had a great time riding the train around the orchard, visiting the animals, picking apples of course(Deanna ate 4 of her 5 before we even got on the bus to go back to the school) and we bought an apple pie. I was really excited to be able to go on their first field trip together. It worked out that I was off and they were both scheduled for the same day-what a great treat. Apples, apples and more apples. I will be apple picking tomorrow too! I better get baking!
